No account or advertising cookies. Course registration, download and exam forms ask for your name, email and a privacy acknowledgement. Optional newsletter subscription is confirmed separately by email.

Registering an online course start

Course-start notice version 2026-09-30.2. When you register, Mickai privately records your name, email, course, registration time, coarse country and privacy acknowledgement. This records an intention to start the course, not attendance, learning progress, completion or independently verified identity. Mickai sends its team an operational notification containing the registration details. We use these records to provide the course registration service, respond to requests and prevent abuse.

Secure, HttpOnly, same-site cookies let this browser resume up to eight registered courses for up to 30 days. They contain no name or email and are not advertising cookies. Older course cookies may be removed as you register more courses. Clearing cookies removes that browser's resume access; it does not erase the private registration record. Your workbook notes and reading progress remain on your device.

Newsletter subscription is a separate optional choice, confirmed by email. Email confirmation and enrolment with the newsletter provider are separate recorded states. A LinkedIn follow is optional and self-reported; this site has no configured independent follower verification. Refusing either choice does not prevent learning.

Private course-start records have a one-year retention target. Request security uses keyed fingerprints derived from IP and email, with a two-day deletion target, without saving raw IP in these course-start records. A tested operator maintenance command handles expiry; no automatic deletion schedule is active. Authorised Mickai operators can access the records in Vercel Blob and operational emails are processed by Resend. Records are not committed to GitHub. Contact hello@mickai.co.uk to request access, correction or deletion. Provider logs and operator inboxes have separate retention settings.

What we collect and why

  • For a workbook download or exam start, Mickai records your name, email, course, request date, coarse country and a reference to your privacy acknowledgement. A private receipt records the notice version, your newsletter choice, any optional self-reported LinkedIn follow and a validated request IP for request security and evidence. Network metadata does not prove identity or that one person made the request.
  • If you opt into the newsletter, we store a pending request and send a confirmation email. Opening its link does not subscribe you: you must confirm on the page. Email confirmation, provider enrolment and any existing unsubscribe are tracked separately. An email confirmation demonstrates access to that link, not assured personal identity.
  • Passing a server-scored exam creates a private certificate record containing your name, course, score, pass mark, issue date, verification ID and revocation status. A person with the verification ID can view the certificate verification information. A separate self-declared certificate tool does not provide assessed issuance.
  • Download and placement-quiz analytics record event details and a rotating daily pseudonymous request fingerprint. Events and fingerprints are not verified unique people. Raw IP addresses are not added to those analytics events.
  • Optional site-visit and workbook-click measurement records the published page path, event type, a relevant published course, time, coarse network country and a random reference for that event. The browser omits URL queries, fragments, referrers and form contents, and uses no cookies, browser storage or persistent visitor identifier for this measurement. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable these browser events. Page views and clicks are events, not verified people, completed downloads or course completions. Aggregated activity may appear in Mickai's private Telegram dashboard. Raw IP and browser user-agent values are used transiently to reject some bots and derive daily abuse counters, not stored in these event records. Bot filtering cannot identify every automated request. Event records have a 90-day deletion target and abuse counters a two-day target, applied by the operator retention command; no automatic deletion schedule is active. Learning and downloads do not depend on analytics.

On your device

Quiz results and workbook notes can be saved in your own browser. Clear browser storage to remove them. The optional LinkedIn link opens the Mickai company page; clicking it is not proof of following and we do not verify LinkedIn followers. Registering an online course adds a secure same-site resume cookie, valid for up to 30 days, with a maximum of eight remembered courses. It contains no name or email.

What we never collect

  • Passwords for an account on this site
  • Advertising or tracking cookies
  • Webcam footage or identity documents for these forms
  • A verified LinkedIn follower status

Storage and retention

New download, exam-request and consent records have a one-year retention target. Raw IP fields have a 30-day removal target. Unconfirmed newsletter requests expire after 24 hours and have a seven-day deletion target. Confirmed newsletter proof has a one-year retention target; the provider contact remains until you unsubscribe or request removal. A tested operator maintenance command applies these rules, but an automatic deletion schedule is not yet active. Existing older records require a separate retention review. Certificate records have no automatic deletion period configured because they support later verification; contact us about removal or revocation.

Request and consent records are stored privately in Vercel Blob and are not committed to GitHub. Authorised Mickai operators can access them. Resend processes confirmation emails, optional newsletter contacts and operational email notifications; name and email may appear in Mickai's operator inbox. Telegram receives aggregate activity only, not the names, email addresses or raw IP fields from these forms. Provider logs and operator mailboxes have separate retention settings, which are not controlled by the maintenance command.
